Summary

The Stockroom Assistant will receive, store, and issue parts and materials. This individual will be responsible for keeping records, compiling inventory reports and supporting the achievement of established operating objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receive and count stock items, and record data.
Distribute inventory to the field.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockroom.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner.
Label stock items and storage areas.
Clean and maintain supplies and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Determine proper storage methods, identification, stock location based on turnover, environmental factors and physical capabilities of facilities.
Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
Provide assistance and cover duties of other stockroom workers.
Works closely with Purchasing, serves as backup to purchasing when necessary.
Participate in all company training.

The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for developing, administering, training personnel, and maintaining quality control activities and procedures required to ensure that the company’s facilities, equipment, methods, processes, and procedures comply with specified quality standards.

Operate as the internal expert for all required documentation relating to ASME, ISO and defense related volume.
Maintain ASME program documentation, audits, changes, and project requirements.
Support organization as an advisor for ASME and customer requirements.
Lead the implementation of ISO 9000 certification.
Develop and maintain ISO 9000 documentation, procedures, trainings, and audits.
Collaborate and work with Shop management on AISC program requirements.
Develop the companies Quality Management Strategy.
Implement and drive monthly quality meetings.
Oversee and drive all quality related customer facing activities.
Implement and drive a Receiving Inspection System; support ISO, readiness to save and purchasing supplier report cards.

Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet metal products.
Select gauges and types of metal, according to product specifications.

Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry.
Shear, saw, cut, roll, bend, drill or weld metal.

Position, align, fit, weld parts to form complete units or subunits, follows blueprints and layout specifications, using fixtures, welding torches and hand tools.
Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers and measuring tapes.
Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed in order to ensure that specifications are met.
Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers.
Locate and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, and/or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.
Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
Move parts into position, manually or by using hoists or cranes.
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials and notify supervisors.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding and submerged arc welding.
Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of materials.
Examine workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.

Food, pharmaceutical, beverage, or consumer products industry experience 1 year preferred.
Knowledge of equipment and safety procedures.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to compute basic shop math.
Valid Driver’s License required.

Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
